What we collect
When you purchase MacDiskCleaner Pro, we collect your email address and name to generate and deliver your license key, and to provide support. Payment details are handled entirely by our payment processor, Dodo Payments — we never see or store your card details.
What the app itself accesses
MacDiskCleaner runs locally on your Mac and scans your file system to identify junk files, duplicates, and large files. It does not upload your file contents, file names, or scan results to our servers. The only network requests the app makes are: activating, validating and deactivating your license key; starting a purchase and receiving the key for it; reporting how many bytes of free cleanup this Mac has used (so the free allowance can't be reset); and checking macdiskcleaner.com for a newer version. These use an anonymous, one-way hashed device identifier — never your hardware serial or file information. The app contains no analytics or advertising, and scan results and settings stay on your Mac.
Data we store
We store your license key, the email address associated with it, and an anonymous hashed device identifier for the Mac you've activated it on (used only to enforce the one-Mac-per-license limit). This data is kept for as long as your license is active, or as required by law.
This website
macdiskcleaner.com uses Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful, but only if you click "Allow" on the analytics notice; until then it stays off. We do not use advertising cookies and never sell data. You can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Downloading the app is logged for basic usage counts: the country/region/city your connection appears to come from, and a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address (not the address itself, and not reversible) so the same download isn't double-counted. This applies regardless of the analytics choice above, since it isn't a cookie and identifies no one individually.
Third parties
We use Dodo Payments (payment processing), Resend (transactional email), and Supabase (database hosting) to operate MacDiskCleaner. Each processes only the minimum data needed for their function.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete it at any time by contacting support@macdiskcleaner.com.
